Within Excel, it can't be done in one step, but with VBA I'm sure it can and
someone in here who knows VBA will probably tell you how as soon as they
read this post (so I added a line to the subject)
Good luck

Subject: [mso] Excel Question
I routinely copy information from Notepad to Excel. In Notepad, items are
written with a Carriage Return between items (so are in column format).
However, I need these 'vertical' items copied from Notepad and Pasted into
Excel in Lines - in one step. That is: The second vertical item in Notepad
is pasted into Excel as the second horizontal cell - in one step.
Can this be done in Excel? I only see ways to do it in multiple steps.
Thanks for any help.
AJ
