I saw your query the other day and had a quick look

You can do it in Word - Format| Style| Hyperlink| Modify| Font

... And in Excel - Format| Cell| Font

The only mention I can find in PowerPoint 2000 Help is "Text that represents
a hyperlink appears underlined and in a color that coordinates with the
color scheme ....."

From that wording, my guess is you're stuck with it unless newer versions
have something extra. Will check on 2003 when I get home.
