According to an Office 2007 page
(http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/access/HA012322271033.aspx) this message
indicates that the import failed completely, not partially. I.e., even your
first row failed to import. This fits with my understanding too - normally
records failing to import will be placed into a separate table.
So, cut it right back to one of two rows and get them importing, then move
back to your 55,000 lines, then to your big file. Sounds like there is a
fundamental problem with your import. The page I referenced above includes
lots of good information that should be applicable to Access 2000.
