I do this by scanning into Adobe Acrobat (Writer, not Reader), which
allows me to merge multiple scans into one file on-the-fly. I don't OCR
it, though, since this is for archiving purposes, so it's not ideal for
dox that will be edited much. I'm sure there's a lot of other ways to
do this, too, and this is the one I've come up with.

    Subject: [mso] Scanning Documents

We are trying to archive paper documents to CD to reduce
paper files. I would like to scan documents that are
several pages long. My scanner only scans one page at a
time. If I scan as a Word document, how do I get all the
pages as a single file and not multiple files? I would
prefer to have one document that is ten pages rather than
ten files of say, doc_abc_page_1_of_10.doc, etc. Anyone
    got any ideas? George
