Click outside the org chart so nothing is selected....hold down your shift
key and click on all the boxes so you have them all selected (little grey
circles around them)...then go to the Format menu and choose
Autoshape...click on the Textbox tab and set your top and bottom margins as
equal numbers and the text will appear to look centered vertically ...you
may have to fiddle with the numbers to get what you want, but as long as the
top and bottom numbers are the same, the text does appear to look centered

That's about as good as it gets, I think.

Hi,  Sorry - I posted too soon!  I have just figured out where I was going
wrong and now realize that I have to enclose the entire 'branch' of the
chart in a selection box in order to make changes to the format of those
boxes in one hit! Now, If i can just find out how to align text vertically
in the center I shall be really happy! Thanks,  Roger
