[mso] Outlook screens trigger donging (very annoying)

Hello everyone,
Many of the screens in MS Office 2003 Outlook began donging at me yesterday --
" Dong , Dong, Dong..." -- until I moved the focus away from them or closed the
window (or, of course, muted the speakers) . I am using Win XP Pro, with all
service packs and security updates installed. The last Office update I
installed was on 14 August, and that was for an Outlook junk-mail filter.

I don't know if this is a clue, but the donging is exactly like when you have a
dialog box open and accidentally click on the background window before closing
it. In my case, shifting focus to Outlook triggers the sound, and there is no
foreground window open. This happens for the main e-mail window and e-mails
that I open; however, Contacts, Task Pad and Calendar don't set off the sound
until I open a form window, such as a contact form or appointment form or task
form.

Have any of you run into this and/or know what sets this off?

Best regards,
Daniel
