I have a client who is saying something happened that I think is impossible. Can you guys help? Here's what happened: She is using Outlook 2003 and retrieving her mail from a remote POP3 server. Normal activity has been reported for a long time. The other day I got a frantic email from her telling me that a bunch of important emails had never shown up in her Inbox, but she saw them in the Unread Mail search folder. I tried to explain that the Unread Mail folder is a Search Folder, not a real folder, but she did not believe me, since she asserted that there were emails in Unread Mail that she never saw in her Inbox. I confirmed that she has no rules running, and there are no filters applied to the inbox. She keeps saying the mails were "diverted" to the Unread Mail folder, and I kept telling her that folder isn't a real folder, but the conversation kind of went in circles. She then removed the Unread Mail folder from her Favorite Folders, so it wouldn't be there, but now she's afraid the mails might end up in some other mysterious place other than her Inbox, and I really can't assure her that they won't. Does this sound totally loopy? (It does to me.) Any thoughts on what could be going on here?
