There is also another way. If it doesn't bother you that there is a NA cropping up - but you just want to get rid of it then you can use conditional formatting as well. It has the benefit that it will remove any NA's (make them "invisible") and you do not have to "clutter" your formulas. In conditional formatting change the setting to "Formula is" from "Cell value". Then "=iserror(A1)" and in the formatting criteria set the font colour to be white (if you have a white background) then format paste to the rest of the spreadsheet (conditional formatting doesn't like arrays). I find conditional formatting very handy as it doesn't clutter my formulas. Jens N.
