Arising from this post I have a query regarding the 'IF' function. I
recently changed to Office XP 2003 and previously had a limit of 7 'IF' uses
within a cell. However I recently used a spreadsheet and had more than ten
'IF' options in the cell and it worked fine. Was it just a fluke or does
anyone know whether the amount has been increased?
Regards
Ian

From Excel help:
OR(logical1,logical2,...)
Logical1,logical2,... are 1 to 30 conditions you want to test that
can be either TRUE or FALSE.
Give us more of an idea of what you're trying to do; there may be an
easier way.

Subject: [mso] Limitation of ORs, Excel XP
Does anyone know how many statements and OR statement can handle? I am
mindful of the limitation of 7 embedded IFs, so I figure there is a
limit to the Ors.
I am looking for a better way, but right now I am on 59 statements for
OR and still going. I have not actually tried the 59 yet, but I am
looking for a simpler way. Right now I have:
=if(OR(D1=5,D1=8, D1=16, D1=17, D1=27, <so on...>),"Date Correct","
Problem")
and it is a monstrous statement.
Thank you.
Robert
