I work in the legal profession in the uK..and still like many of the "old"
ways..heheheh..as much as possible..I am a manual trained typist..and the /
left a reference because when the computer keyboard was designed (presumably
male..non typist) without that in mind...so the full stop/period...came into
force in a reference.....!

in a legal document we always left two spaces after a full stop/period and
in a draft document......it was double spacing...but that does not always
work either...

now i comprise...in court documents..i try to adhere to the old ways to a
certain degree of underlining..double spacing seems to have left the
field..but i use 1.5 i still dont use punctuation in legal documents..i
refuse to adhere because i learnt law too...and punctuation can put a whole
new meaning on sentences...

basically..i make it look nice...as I was taught to do ....and mixing some
of the new ways <BG>!

"accepted" ways to be "anything goes" these days (:

basically itry to adhere to

these days? I've been away from the writing world for awhile, but
hope to be doing some work in that area for clients in the future,
and would like to update my knowledge).

Thanks,

Jan
