[mso] Re: Excel 2000- Capitlize day abbreviations?

AS long as you do not necessarily need to retain the result date in date
format you could convert to text using the following:

 = UPPER(TEXT(A1, "yyyy-mm-dd ddd"))

where A1 contains the original date.
Hope this helps.

I believe you when you say it works for you. But, it isn't for me. Could it
be related to my preferred date format I set in the Regional and Language
Options, I wonder?

I still get this format:
2004-02-28 Tue, and not 2004-02-28 TUE. I am trying to get the latter.

Thank you.

Robert

In Excel the Format Cells - Number - Custom format yyyy-mm-dd DDD works
perfectly for me.

Robert,

In Custom format, the string yyyy-mm-dd ddd works for me. I am using Outlook
2003.

You can also use the following: =UPPER(TEXT([date],"yyyy-mm-dd ddd")) which
is best used where [date] is the reference to the cell where the date is.

Andrew
