Template from the drop down.

...Not really...but that depends on what you're trying to do. That's like
asking...are there option when creating a Word template that I should use?
What are you trying to do with this template?

>1) Can I do variable substitution? (e.g., if I am replying, place the
original
sender or subject into the body of the text)

...yes, but this would require OL VBA.

>2) When I do a reply, can I keep the subject? Can I change the subject to a
totally new subject? Can I "add to" the subject?

...yes, but this would require OL VBA

>3) What controls whether the original email is included or not?

I'm 90% sure that this is an option within the rules...depending on how you
set them up. Although I can't remember right now where...maybe someone
remembers?

==========================
So what are your questions?
==========================

1. How do I create a template?
(Think I kind of know that now thanks to an earlier help response from a
kind
list member, but was very frustrated I could not find anything in "help".)

2. Are there template options I should know?

Examples:

1) Can I do variable substitution? (e.g., if I am replying, place the
original
sender or subject into the body of the text)

2) When I do a reply, can I keep the subject? Can I change the subject to a
totally new subject? Can I "add to" the subject?

3) What controls whether the original email is included or not?
