I didn't think so!  Grossly minsinformed I'd say.  There was a nice article (or 
two) in ME a couple of decades ago which diagrammed and explained the Crofton 
operation in detail.  Interesting and informative.  On my last opportunity to 
see the engines, on a visit to Nev Boulton, they were closed IIRC.
