[modeleng] Filing

Gentlemen!  Is there a fool-proof way to keep a file
from pining when filing mild Steel?  It is the
absolute pits to be almost finished a filing job and
have the file to pick up a pin and gouge a scratch
that has to be worked out of the finished surface.
