Hi Allan
We both are already members of Colchester Smee and this is his second attempt
as he part built an Allchin abou 40 years ago also he is a toolmaker by trade
and the boiler is copper other than that thanks for the info.

Isnt the boiler steel?
If so, he will have to have it made to get insurance. (Bell Boilers seem to
be one of the better suppliers.)
(Unless he is a qualified welder.)

If it is copper (my memory might be at fault) then he should join a local
club and get their boiler inspectors to check it at various stages of
construction. This will enable them to issue a boiler certificate when it is
completed, and with that, he can run at his, plus any other club event.

Of course, is he has already done all that, ignore this post !
