**Note: Improved update accessiblity. To ease the update web traffic
Kaspersky labs has additional servers for autoupdating. The program
defaults to use one server but can be altered to check a variety of
servers. Select Kaspersky updater, select update via the internet to
open the drop down box(es) select "location" Check the box labeled
"Use alternate locations from the list" select next and next to update.
This option should stay selected after the first time. This helps
Kaspersky lighten the load for updates and helps you obtain updates
easier.

Microsoft To Cut Off Dual-Boot Windows Option by Mary Jo Foley

Starting next year, PC makers won't be shipping dual-boot Windows desktops,
as a result of a change Microsoft is making in its OEM licensing terms.
Currently, some OEMs offer customers a choice of Windows versions?say,
Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP?and allow users to select one
upon first booting their new machines.
"Microsoft will no longer offer dual installation but will offer downgrade
rights in Windows XP," confirmed a spokeswoman for the company's licensing
division.
"Previously, with dual install, a customer had to pick just one of the two
operating systems and then stick with the one they chose. With downgrade
rights, a customer can install an older operating system and move back up to
Windows XP whenever they choose," the spokeswoman added.

NT/2000/XP. Once PortsLock is installed, administrators can assign
permissions to TCP/IP connections, just as they would in managing
permissions on an NTFS partition of a hard disk. It lets you control which

etc.) on a local computer, depending on the time of day and day of the week.

T'WAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS,

WITH PRESENTS TO GIVE,

ONE LOOK AT MY WATCH,

This poem was written by a peace keeping soldier stationed overseas.
The
following is his request. I think it is reasonable. "PLEASE. Would you do
me the kind favour of sending this to as many people as you can?"
Christmas will be coming soon and some credit is due to our Canadian
service men and women for our being able to celebrate these festivities.
Let's try
in this small way to pay a tiny bit of what we owe. Make people stop and
think of our heroes, living and dead, who sacrificed themselves for us.
Please, do your small part to plant this small seed.

"InfoTip Extension" is a shell extension for MSIE4.0 or later.
InfoTip is a new shell feature that was introduced by MSIE4.0.
The small window that appears when you point the Mouse Cursor at "My
Computer", "Network Neighbourhood" or "Recycle Bin". "InfoTip Extension"
adds this InfoTip feature to files that are not supported by MSIE. You just
need to point at file, if you want to view it's information.
NOTE: this may work differently on different versions of Windows and IE.

far? Press I to go back up.
Now press Enter to follow that link. If the page is too slow to load, simply
press Backspace to return to Google's results page, and then press C to see

Mike's Friday Tip ~ Scroll Your Text Larger
If you find the text on a page hard to read, you can use your 'wheel mouse'
wheel to enlarge it.
Hold down the 'Cltr' key and scroll the mouse wheel to make the lext
largeror smaller.
Works in IE, Opera, Word, and Eudora mail agent.

however no virus scanner is 100% effective as manufactures cannot keep up with
the rapid change of viruses that happens daily.
