Having the same problem, it is as if I am typing in slow motion. My 2012 Macbook Air was pretty snappy, but we will have to see! I am noticing reduced sluggishness as I use the computer. Have no regrets and like how Apple has simplified some tasks. However, I will really have to think about whether or not to upgrade my 2009 iMac.
