Hi David,

I just discovered something a bit confusing. It looks as though when I start
textedit an Pages, I am interracting with a scroll-area initially.

I can stop interracting with it and my text still goes in to the proper place
and as I have the vo cursor set to track the insertion point and or the
keyboard focus, it seems to read properly. I have not tried typing multiple
pages to see if this changes the behavior.

I am confused as to why it starts of interracting in some applications and not
in others.
I need to refine my model of what is actually going on here.

cheers,

Joel
