What happens when you are in the source list of Itunes, stop interacting with the list and hit vo-right twice? If you do that and hear Ipod settings, then interact with that area. I'm not quite sure if Itunes will let you use an Ipod with to different OS's at the same time so you might just want to take everything off your Ipod and do a restore on it and start it like it were a new Ipod.
