preview does a really good job. it can be a little slow but its just the same as using adobe on windows lol

I'm reading service manuals and product spec sheets with the best possible screen reader around and wow I love this to bits.

one manual I'm reading contains over 340 pages and it hasnt crashed lol and its containing a heck of a lot of content.

I'm not having any issues either. I wonder what documents are causing it?
also, configuration of preview can be a factor.

  Bill et al;

I haven't had this prob at all. I use Preview all the time to read
pdfs and actually prefer it over Acrobat.

  I'm running OS 10.5.2 on a MacBook 2.16 GHZ 1 GB ram

Have a great evening and HTH.

Smiles,

Cara :)

Hey listers, Question: what indeed has happened to previews ability
to read pdfs? I'v recently updated to os/x v5.2, and when I did so,
preview at that point stopped functioning with pdfs. Anybody else
have a similar problem? If you want behavior specifics, please let
me know at this address. Any assistance in getting this up and
running again would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, and
do take care.

Cheers: Bill S.

They work fine with preview in tiger.
They do not work with either preview or softcon pdf viewer in
leopard.
I did read somewhere that pdf viewing was broken in 10.5.1, and
that it was fixed in 10.5.2, but I've not upgraded to 10.5.2 yet,
because of the various problems folks have had. As a result, I
cannot read my fictionwise books at the moment either, unless I
reboot into tiger to do so. <sigh>

Repeatedly. Annoying--they are set up only to work with Adobe,
apparently, according to the online instructions.

Couldn't you just use preview?

Has anone figured out how to make the"read aloud" voice speak
faster in Adobe 8? I've had to start using that with ebooks
from FictionWise, and I want to read them, since scrolling
through with VoiceOver doesn't appear to work. any way to make
it faster?
