Hi Nicole,
Sorry, getting to this a bit late so my suggestion may not work. If you
accidentally delete email messages, you can get them back by pressing Command +
Z to undo the deletion, but, if you’ve already done other things, this may not
work. Worth a try, if you haven’t already solved the issue. Perhaps pressing
Command + Z several times might do the trick.
Good luck,
Russell

Good catch, that’s the sure fire way to make sure you are in the right box,
interact with it then VO J.

Are you interacting with each of those individual folders? Even if you use
VO-J to jump between mailbox list and messages list, if you’re not
interacted with the mailbox folder you want, it jumps you back to the
messages list of the last folder you interacted with. I hope that makes
sense.

I see those options as well but when I write Arod over into the actual
messages voiceover flung me somewhere else and that’s how the messages got
accidentally deleted.

On the Mac, stop interacting with your messages, VO left arros to
mailboxes, interact, VO down arros through the list. I’m finding things
called trash, deleted items, and archive for each of my accounts.
Good luck,

Sometimes the Cloud takes time to repopulate and catch up. Give it some
more time, if you can. It’s just part of my OCD nature about this sort
of thing, but I move all messages with any important information at all
to the “Important,” folder on my phone, which is all the way at the
other end of the messages list. I tried making other folders on my phone
through the Mail app, but it always “Cannot create folder,” or something
equally useless. I just like to keep my Inbox empty, for some reason.
Anyway, hope it gets fixed.
Be well

It looks like a lot of the messages are back but it’s selective. Many
or not. The panic attack is because I have literally tons of messages
that are very important that I need to keep information for. At least I
got a few of them back. I’ll have to keep working at this.

Awww. I hope you don’t have a panic attack, it’s just not worth it!
Save your panic attacks for things like … well. Insert really bad
thing here. I don’t want to jinx you. Anyway, no guarantees. I once
deleted the Mail app from my iPhone, and that was hell on wheels for a
while, but I’ve never done this and to be honest I don’t use Mac Mail
much because I’m lazy and just do stuff on my phone with a keyboard…

I’m going to try that as soon as I get a break from work. And
hopefully before I have a straight up panic attack. Thanks for your
help Mark and quick response, I appreciate it! Apparently I didn’t
know I could do that either and with voiceover jumping around like it
was I had no idea which folder I was in.

Can you recover them from Trash on the dock, the main trash, not
the trash folder in Mail? I didn’t even know you could delete the
inbox folder, but the contents of it might be in the main trash.

Hi folks,
I was on my Mac and deleted what I thought was the trash folder but
turns out it was the inbox. All of my messages are gone from my
phone and Mac and I don’t see them in the trash folder anymore. Is
there a way to recover these? The trash folder still has all of my
messages from yesterday and before but nothing from the inbox that
was just deleted. I really hope someone here can help me, there was
a ton of messages that I need to get access to. I’m seeing that
voiceover focus definitely jumps around a lot when navigating
through Mail and this seems to be what happened.
