Hi Ian,
I think that would work. When you save a document, the shortcut keys do get
saved with it, so if you save that as a template it should work. What a great
idea. I’ll give that a try later too.
Thanks,
Russell

What a great tip, very handy.
I’m doing a work thing now, but when I get a chance I’m going to try this.
I’m also wondering if you can save a document with the shortcuts as a
template and use it when you need that kind of formatting, like I always use
3 levels of heading in this type of report. I’ll give it a try when I get a
chance.

Hi Mark, Ian, and all,
Another tip I use is to create a shortcut key to create heading 1, 2,
or 3 levels. To do this, when you are in the paragraph style list and choose
the heading level you want, say, Heading 2, for example, interact with the
heading level 2, and then VO Right Arrow to the "Forward" menu button and VO
space on this. Then VO Down Arrow till you hear "Shortcut, sub-menu", and VO
Right Arrow to open the sub-menu. Now VO Down Arrow to the key you want to
use as your shortcut key. You can choose from F1 to F8. I use F1 for heading
level 1, F2 for heading level 2, and F3 for heading level 3. Once you've set
this up, all you need to do is select the text you want to format as a
heading, and press the appropriate key, F2 for a heading level 2, for
instance. Unfortunately these shortcut keys only seem to work for the
document you set them up in, so if you create a new document, you must set
up the shortcut keys again, but it is helpful if you are working on a long
document. If you save the document, close it, and open it at a later date,
the shortcut keys will still work.
Hope this is helpful,
