[mac4theblind] portable preferences question

Hello fellow list members,
I am looking at the option of using portable preferences in order to be able to
use a mac at one of the job sites I work at. I tried to follow the directions
within the quick start guide last evening without success. I believe I was able
to get the preferences to the flash drive but putting it back in my machine did
not make the changes I had set up for practice. Any thoughts?
