Yeah my bad. I knew you were using mavericks but forgot icloud drive might not
have been in there. And I don't have my own tutorials to reference that lol!

It should be something like,
1. Open Macintosh HD
2. You will be on the browser, so VO left arrow to the sidebar.
3. Interact with the sidebar.
4. Use the VO keys to navigate up and down the sidebar.
Also, check Finder preferences and select, Sidebar, from the
toolbar to be sure you don’t have iCloud drive unchecked.

and I get the icloud drive. I then see all the documents and
stuff I have stored including some notes from this month.
Granted I'm using el capitan but that key stroke has not changed

saw that things were saving to iCloud.
