Welcome to the Mac. Yes, there are ways of doing this. The item chooser menu or using the web rotor and then choosing links. YOu can start typing whatever it is you are looking for and the choices will start to narrow down for you. On the Demonstrations page of http://www.macfortheblind.com I recently put up a podcast that talks about browsing on the Mac with VoiceOver. I cover the web rotor and item chooser in it. As for the question about other web browsers that will work with VoiceOver, I am told that Google Chrome is getting there and so is, I believe, Opera. In the App store, the Lightning web browser and, I believe, Omni Web, are accessible with VoiceOver. Take Care John D.
