Hmmm. VO plus f8 launches iTunes. Anyway, I went in to system preferences and was able to navigate among the various settings. I was trying to interact with stuff when I didn't need to. I guess that's where some of my confusion comes in: I don't know when it's necissary to interact with something and when I can just change the item and it will effect all other content on that page. Anyway, Thank you Justin for your help! I'm now playing around with the various VO options. I find that I can just vo right arrow once, and it lands on the list of categories. Then just pressing the up and down arrows changes the categories, genera'l, verbosity, navigation, text etc. You could interact with it if you wanted, but I find I don't have to. But it's a list on the side of the window, with the options vertically laid out. When you select an option, the contents to the right of the list automatically change to correspond with the preference category. You don't have to press any buttons to make the options in a category show up. Hopefully that makes since. Justin Harford El 17-09-2011, a las 20:49, <scott@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> escribió: Hi all. My name is Scott and I live in New York. I've been blind all my life and have always used technology to improve my life situation. I've been a Windows user for years, but after getting an iPhone in July, have decided to take on the Macbook air. I've been using it for about 24 hours now. I understand, I think, how to interact with text, tables, and navigate around web pages. This from following the Voiceover tutorial provided on the machine itself. So far, however, I am unable to change categories in the voiceover preferences under Universal access. General is selected by default, but I can not move to any other categories. I've tried selecting another category with vo plus spacebar, command O, and shift vo down arrow to interact with different categories to no avail. Can someone please explain what I need to do to navigate between categories within the voiceover preferences? Thank you for any help, for reading, and your patience, Scott
