Florian - after some digging I believe you are correct.  Currently
compiling with options LUAJIT_EXTERNAL_UNWIND and LJ_TARGET_ARM.  Still
need  to do more checking, but original advice that External Unwind and ARM
are not compatible appears to be incorrect.  Will advise and thanks to all
for feedback.
