For what it's worth, the creator of the application bundle confirmed
that he has the same OS X and Python versions.  So I'm not sure what to
think.

If it is a threading issue, I guess the worst-case scenario is that I
rewrite the client to fork off a few processes instead of using threads.
I think the code is organized in such a way that it wouldn't be too
difficult... but I'd rather avoid that.
