He's the exception ... a lousy reader of his own poetry.
Empson's recording of some of his work also can creep people
out. "Slowly the poison the blood stream fills ... the waste
remains..the waste remains and kills." Brrrr...yeech.
Some good readers: Auden, Plath, Hughes, Merwin, Wilbur,
Bishop, Kinnell, Ashbery, Moore, O'Hara, and Stevens.
