But the German flyer's speech was written by our side, Lawrence. Words put in the mouth...

Aa poem written by Jan Struther, the writer of Mrs. Miniver:

/Freedom (by Jan Struther) /

Now heaven be thanked, I am out of love again!
I have been long a slave, and now am free;
I have been tortured, and am eased of pain;
I have been blind, and now my eyes can see;
I have been lost, and now my way lies plain;
I have been caged, and now I hold the key;
I have been mad, and now at last am sane;
I am wholly I that was but half of me.
So a free man, my dull proud path I plod,
Who, tortured, blind, mad, caged, was once a God.

I hope you liked that, Mike. It's your birthday for another ten minutes...
U.

Lawrence Helm wrote:

In one scene Mrs. Miniver finds a wounded German pilot in her yard. He produces a Luger and insists that she feed him and give him a coat to cover his uniform. She reproaches him for Germany’s killing of women and children and he threatens to do the same to England. At which she slaps him on the face.

The German’s fascist speech reminded me of the Islamists speeches I’ve read. Islamism is after all an a fascist tyranny in its ideology. Francis Fukuyama believes Liberal-Democracy shall defeat all competing forms of government and society, but Fascism is alive and well in the form of Islamism. Islamists promise to do to us what the German flyer promised to do to Mrs. Miniver.
