I hadn't eaten meat for so long that when I had a soy based meat something a few years ago with a texture made to resemble meat, I didn't like it. A meat eater might argue that I didn't like it because it's an imitation, but I don't think so. The texture was what I remembered and it was too much like meat. The idea of eating something that simulates something that came out of a slaughter house just doesn't do it for me. Still, in answering Andreas' question, I might eat a vat grown steak.
