While we're talking about funny [both peculiar and humourous] weather stories, I once saw a report on a Detroit tv station where a guy had a minor rear-end accident at the bottom of what -- in the whiteout conditions -- appeared a barely perceptible, but very long downward grade... about 20 minutes later, there was a very cold looking woman reporting on the side of the road while in the background people (in cars) were still piling into a growing list of 'minor' rear-end accidents ever further up the same grade. I've never seen such blissful 5 mile-an-hour accidents in slow motion like that.
