Actually, it´s more like Grice to your Mill. Mill, in many ways, predated Grice. For example, on "sousentendu", which the OED quotes from Mill´s lectures on Logic. Mill used to say, "Every sentence is a lesson in logic". Grice admired Mill and would often play with the surnames. He WAS clever.
