We are right now doing language study in Salatiga. In January we will
move to Yogyakarta where I will be teaching at Universitas Islam
Negeri (State Islamic University). For the upcoming semester I will
be teaching a course on Justice and Human Rights. Next year they are
wanting me to teach courses in Philosophy of Religion as well as
Philosophy and Peace.
I have been invited to give a paper at a conference on the
contributions made by Islamic higher education to Islamic society. My
paper will be on Western Philosophy and liberal democracy.
We are enjoying life in Indonesia though I haven't quite adjusted to
30+Celsius temperatures in November. We are planning to celebrate
Christmas in Bali!
We only recently got access to the internet in our house but I still
am not able to keep up with all the posts to the list. I hope to be
able to contribute a little in the future. I see the usual suspects
are still around with the addition of JLS.
