It is rather grey & gloomy today in the SF Bay Area as well, but
sunnier yesterday for a while; the lighting can't be all that
different between here and where you are and the hours for "good"
outdoor/wildlife photography are limited.
YOUR BALD EAGLE SHOT = Awesome digital capture even in so-so lighting.
Kudos to the 'Birdman of Sacramento'!
