Ford gibt seine E-Patente frei
Ford gibt zahlreiche seiner Patente im Bereich Elektromobilität frei. Damit
wolle Ford die Entwicklung bei Elektrofahrzeugen beschleunigen, so der Konzern.
Anders als der Elektroautohersteller Tesla, der seine Patente bereits zuvor
kostenfrei für jeden zugänglich gemacht hatte, fordert Ford dabei aber eine
Lizenzgebühr pro Patent. "Wir müssen kooperieren, und gleichzeitig stehen wir

Neue Lösung zur Parkplatzsuche
Mit dem Forschungsprojekt "Dynamische Parkwahrscheinlichkeitsprognose" will BMW
aufzeigen, wie besonders in Großstädten in Zukunft schneller ein freier
Stellplatz auf der Straße gefunden werden könnte. Gemeinsam mit
Entwicklungspartner Inrix, einem Anbieter von Echtzeitverkehrsinformationen,
präsentiert der Automobilhersteller auf der Fachmesse "TU-Automotive Detroit"
das System in einem BMW i3 Prototypen. Das Forschungsprojekt will sich dabei

Mitsubishi Electric verbessert Infotainment
Mitsubishi Electric hat seine neuesten Technologien für das
Fahrzeug-Infotainment und die aktive Lärmkompensation vorgestellt. Die Systeme
nennen sich FLEXConnect.IVI beziehunsweise FLEXConnect.ANC. Das System
FLEXConnect.IVI der jüngsten Generation kombiniert verschiedene
Touchscreen-Funktionen und verbindet zuvor separat funktionierende Bildschirme
für die Instrumententafel, Blickfeldanzeige und das Center Stack in einem

GKN Driveline baut das Auslandsgeschäft aus
Der US-Maschinenbauer GKN hat seine Produktionsanlagen im Ausland ausgebaut und
dafür 4,5 Millionen Euro investiert. Die Tochterfirma GKN Driveline aus
Birmingham, ein Zulieferer von Antriebswellentechnologie, hat die
Produktionskapazität ihres türkischen Werkes in Eskişehir erhöht, um auf die
wachsende Nachfrage von Automobilherstellern in der Türkei zu reagieren. Mit
den neuen Anlagen hat sich die Größe des Werkes auf 6.300 Quadratmeter mehr als

Der weltweite Markt für intelligente Gebäudetechnik dürfte von 7,26 Milliarden

Siemens schließt Verkauf an Vanderbilt ab
Siemens' Gebäudetechnik-Division Building Technologies hat den Verkauf ihrer
Sicherheitsproduktsparte "Security Products" an das US-Sicherheitsunternehmen
Vanderbilt mit Wirkung zum 1. Juni abgeschlossen. Die Sparte bietet Hardware

Ford shares e-patents
Ford Motor is offering access to numerous electromobility patents. Ford thereby
hopes to accelerate development of electric cars, the U.S. automaker announced.
However, in contrast to e-car maker Tesla, which had already shared its patents
free of charge, Ford is asking for a license fee per patent. "We need to
cooperate, and at the same time we continue to compete," said Kevin Layden,

New solutions for finding parking space
With a research project called "Dynamic parking probability forecast", BMW
wants to demonstrate how free parking space can be found faster in major cities
in the future. Together with development partner Inrix, a provider of real-time

prototype at the "TU-Automotive Detroit" trade fair. The research project aims

U.S. engineering company GKN has expanded its overseas production facilities as
part of a 4.5 million euros investment. Birmingham-based driveline technology

Siemens' Building Technologies Division has completed the sale of its "Security
Products" business to U.S. security company Vanderbilt, effective June 1. The
sold business offers hardware for intrusion detection, access control and video

be an important building technologies supplier over the long term.
