No matter what happened at Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont
Natural History during the last week in April, it couldn't possibly
have been more newsworthy than the announcement of the
re-discovery of the Ivory-billed Woodpecker in Arkansas.

Thus, the 22-30 April 2004 installment of "This Week at Hilton
Pond" is devoted to the Ivory-bill . . . and how to differentiate it
from the similar-looking Pileated Woodpecker. To view the photo
essay, please visit
<<http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek050422.html>>

As always we include a summary of all birds banded during the
period and a list of significant recaptures, plus several notes about
spring nature happenings.

Please forward this message to friends who appreciate birds and
nature, and tell them they can get a free reminder for "This Week
at Hilton Pond" by sending a blank E-mail to
<<mailto:ThisWeek@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>> with SUBSCRIBE in the
subject line. Be sure to have them configure their spam filters to
accept E-mails from ThisWeek@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Happy Nature Watching!
