Hi Carolyn, and All,

I've been meaning to comment on the new phone number list Juno sent out
early this month. For the first time in my personal history with Juno
which goes back to their "beta" experimenting prior to their public
release in April 96 - been a member of this list since summer of 96 BTW -
I have a local "Free" Juno number in my little rural village. And I mean
free in the sense that I've had neither a free e-mail or Internet access
number.

When I first moved here, I started using Juno e-mail to access the
Internet via Accmail with each call being long distance. Needless to say
this severely limited the number of my connects per day. But there was
no other option... after about a year, we got an ISP number here and
I've gone that route ever since.

Juno released a Premium number for my area about 6 months ago and I've
had a "Free" Netzero for even longer than that, but I've always elected
to stay with my ISP which has been rock solid. Now, with these latest
phone number changes, I've finally joined the "other world". Of course,
I've immediately run into all the problems all the rest of you have with
their service, which has come as no surprise.

Now I'll finally get around to why I'm attaching this bit of personal
history in my Reply to your particular message. You mentioned that a lot
of the new phone numbers in your are now end in 520... and so do mine.
Actually, -0520 to be more precise. And guess what else I noticed? A
lot of the Netzero numbers in my area end in -0530 which I'm sure we can
assume is no coincidence, but rather a consolidation of contract
providers. Probably something we can expect to see more of as these two
companies continue to reduce their overhead and improve their cost
structure through economies of scale as they meld into one company.

George Lunt ..... so. cal.
