A combination helicopter and prop plane, must have been a sight to see.

  Sorted.

I managed to freeze the program as it started running which trapped the DLL's
in a temporary folder. I was then able to copy over manually and DXTBMP now
works.

Good news also in that I've found a CD with all my FS data on so I now have
the PA28 files and all my bitmaps and XML files for the Aztec panel. I'm
missing the panel.cfg file but that is far easier to rebuild than making loads
of bitmaps and XML files again.

I've also found all my early GMax work which includes Ronaldsway objects, the
Tiger Moth files, wind turbines, masts and a bunch of projects I never really
got started on. There's files for a Hawker Hart, DH60 Gipsy Moth and a DH2 plus
a bunch or research files for a Fairey Rotodyne I'd totally forgotten about.
Amongst the reference stuff there is an 84Mb MPEG which I can't seem to play
but I think it shows the startup procedure of this fascinating (and deafening)
aircraft.

  Bones -

  Returning to your original post:

Assuming that you d/led mwgfxdll.exe, saved the file then right clicked it
and 'Run as Administrator' - I suspect that the DOS box appeared plus an extra
both advising that the dlls had extracted and saved to c:\windows\system32. If
so, when you closed the DOS box did you get a new box popping up titled
'Program Compatibility Assistant' which told you that 'This program may not
have installed correctly'? If you did then simply IGNORE IT and click
'Cancel' (this is Win7 "trying to be helpful"). You should find the dlls
safely tucked away in c:\windows\System32.

If not, I'll zip up my copies and email them to you ...!

  Subject: [jhb] DXTBmp

Has anyone got DXTBmp on their PC's?

I'm trying to install this but the DLL set won't extract in W7. I need the
following DLL's:

  MWACE.DLL

  MWACEVB.DLL

  MWDDS.DLL

  MWDDSVB.DLL

  MWDLG.DLL

  MWGFX.DLL

  MWGFX24.DLL

  MWGFXVB.DLL

Failing that has any new bitmap editor come out for FS that replaces DXTBmp?
