Lol agree with you there; I used to be a window cleaner at one time and also a
centrelathe turner whereby I was bent over daily and suffered wear and tear on
discs which also brought eventually vertigo. Daren't bend to look under my bed
now. Fred D207

I think it was in Funchal that the cathedral has a glass floor, over a crypt.
The distance to the crypt floor was probably only 20 ft but I couldn't get off
the glass floor quickly enough.
I'm pretty sure vertigo comes with advancing age, as I used to be able to climb
the ladders to the tops of cooling towers. Standing on a chair triggers it off
these days!

It didn't help that the new observation platform sticks out from the cliff and
has an open grill floor. Jen had already stepped onto it and seen it was open
so she wasn't amused when I jumped down onto the decking next to her. I wish
women had a sense of humour..

We've been up to that spot too! Vertigo, oh yes! I hated it... :-) How
strange it is that I have no problems when looking down from the cockpit of a
PA28 at 2000' yet, stick me on the top of a cliff at similar heights & I really
do throw a wobbly...!
Glad that you enjoyed Tea at the Ritz, we loved the ambience and the
entertainment. Simple pleasures!
