This is incorrect.
What spammers are using is called "windows messenger service, which has 
absolutely nothing to do with the windows messenger or any other instant 
messaging program, despite the similarities in the names.
The Shoot the messenger program disables the windows messenger service 
which can be found in windows xp, nt4 and 2000, and will not, in any way at 
all, effect the use of windows messenger,  msn messenger, or anyother 
instant messaging programs.  Please see
