It really does sound like this is a video card issue, and upgrading to xp pro really won't help. In fact, you may have to pay more money in order to get a license to use jaws professional, if you're running JAWS standard now. So stick with what you have, and try to figure out what video card you have and figure out if it's compadible with JAWS.

hi. Ok, now let's be as specific as we can here. When you try to install JAWS, the instalation program simply says ===?? or, are you saying that when opening any type of text document or go to a webpage or read an e-mail message, is it only saying ===, or is it reading the text but adding the === before and after it reads what is on the screen? No matter what, I would say you have some kind of video card compadibility issue going on. It sounds as if JAWS does not like the video card you have installed.

I doubt that installing XP Pro will affect this. I still think you have some highlighted text in a window or box on your screen that's being spoken. Have you tried to virtualizes the window and look around with the mouse cursor?
