Speaking of Braille displays, could some of you who use a Braille display write
me off list as to your opinions of them.

How do you use them? I mean, do you use them for layout perposes mostly? Do you
use them to re-read material mostly? I can see where the former is not provided
by the spoken word where as the latter can be obtained via the screen reader as
well as the display and is mearly an individual preference?. Can I do as much
by hooking up my Braille Note?

Again, please answer me off line since this is not directly JAWS related.

Debbie

Everything that is spoken by Jaws including the virtual viewer is displayed
on the Braille display. If you wanted exactly like it is spoken you can use
the speech history mode otherwise using the Braille display will sometimes
show more or less information than speech. For example I have turned off all
the descriptors in structured mode so I do not see the word desktop when I
am on the desktop. In my verbosity settings for speech I have turned off
item number and position but rail still shows it. Hi:

Unfortunately, I haven't a braille display to experiment with, but it's my
understanding that the virtual buffer works for speech and braille. Any
braille users out there who can confirm or deny this?
