We're getting a little tiny bit off-topic here, folks. If it's questions
about UTorrent functionality as a whole (IE: encription versus not using
it), that has nothing to do with JFW. Let's try and keep this JAWS-centric,
okay?

You should try it both ways and see which is faster over-all for you.
Encryption takes longer to handle, but if your isp is trying to block
torrents, should let you get around the blocks. The blocks I know about are
only greatly slowed-down service, I haven't heard of any complete denial of
service.

My own suggestion, different from someone else's, is to leave it unchecked.
If after a few weeks of operation you feel you have a good feel for the
speed numbers that you usually get, then, try checking it to see if anything
changes.

hth,

Chip

btw, I think the default may be to queue new torrents rather than to
immediate start downloading them; if that's the case, I'd recommend changing
the setting so that it immediately starts new torrents.

Hi: There is something called encryption enabling or something; does that
get checked or unchecked? Thanks.

Dave,

try:

http://www.utorrent.com

for utorrent.

Yes, finding torrents is the problem, but several sites have been mentioned
in this thread, all of which are good sites.

You can have the best luck if you can get a site to show you it's entries
sorted by date; the most recently posted torrents are the ones most likely
to have people still seeding them.

You, as a torrent user, have an obligation to keep them loaded and seeding
from your pc after you get them. This is how the system continues to work,
so don't anyone new to torrents forget about that. Keep your pc on, and
leave a copy of the torrents in your BitTorrent client so that they can be
seeded.

Hello,

I'm hitting this thread kind of late. Where do i get UTorrent and do i have
to do anything to jfw or utorrent to make it accessible with jfw?

I'm also in the market for torrent files? In the past torrents i've found
haven't been the most reliable, they point to dead links and/or time out.

Thanks.

Dave.

Yes, that's the default search site built into UTorrent.

To find what you want, you should search some sites with torent files,
download them and then include them in utorent to start the process of
download the data.

Someone I believe on this list answered a question about music sharing
programmes and suggested utorrent. I downloaded and installed it but am a
little confused as to how to search for specific formats e.g. movies
specifically in MPG etc. I don't know who it was but if you or anyone is
able to help please reply off list if you prefer not to reply on list. My
email address is ewade@xxxxxxxxxx Thankjs in advance.
