Ok well some one will have to find them but there was a group from indea
that created drivers that would allow jaws for dos to work with there
software synthesizer. Witch I understood at the time was SAPI
compliant. Thanks.

Hi,

You can go to the www.freedomscientific.com website, look in the
download section, then under JFW and under More downloads. They have
made their JAWS for DOS program available for a free download.

I think you may need an external speech synthesizer to use Jaws for Dos,
I don't recall being able to use a software synthesizer like Eloquence,
since that runs in a Windows environment.

Hi friends !

A friend of mine, who is also visually challenged and is currently
managing a telephone booth for livelihood, has got the break of his
life - the Taj group has evinced interest in employing him as a
telephone operator in one of his properties, provided he can prove that
he can work on their computer system. Unfortunately for my friend, the
Taj apparently uses some DOS based software - called Fidelio - which is
not supported by JFW. There is a good chance of him getting this job if
he could demonstrate his ability to work with Fidelio in the next few
days. So, please help us out with the following doubts
:

a) Can we make Jaws For Windows to work on DOS software with some
configuration settings ? Or, is it a sub-optimal solution that would
waste time and effort ?

b) Are earlier versions of Jaws For DOS still available ? If yes,
please let us know the source, terms etc.

c) Is there any other screen reading software that is more effective in
a DOS environment ? Please educate.

Time is of the essence and this is a make or break situation for him.
So, please chip in with your suggestions / solutions.

Thanks and regards
