Alison,

One option that might be available and useful to you is the Outlook
Mobile Access (OMA) interface instead of the Outlook Web Access (OWA)
interface. At my work I get to the latter by using an URL that ends in
/exchange. If I substitute /oma for that, I get a much simplified screen
that consists only of links and text, and thus is much easier to
navigate with JAWS. I haven't worked with it much but I have noticed
that it cannot deal with message attachments, unread messages are
indicated with an asterisk and there are no shortcut keys for things
like reply or forward. I have asked our computer people if anyone who
has OWA also has OMA and they don't know, so I can't say for sure that
this option will be available for you.

Another possibility is to use a web browser other than a recent version
of Internet Explorer. I have noticed, for instance, that Mozilla Firefox
automatically shows the Basic interface for OWA. Unfortunately, Firefox
isn't easily usable with JAWS, and I haven't identified a version of a
browser that both gives the basic interface and works well with JAWS.
Someone else may know of such a beast.

Subject: microsoft outlook web access

Hi all!
I use Microsoft outlook's web interface to check my college email
through Internet Explorer. I don't have a choice in the matter since I'm
home for the Summer. They only allow the use of regular outlook on
network computers. However, I find the web interface to be very
inaccessible. Jaws doesn't always read the subject and sender of the
current message correctly, and the form field for typing a message seems
to not exist. Any and all help would be most appreciated.
