MessageThese are good suggestions, Barb. At work, I've taken to using Wordpad
rather than Word because I've had focusing issues in Word where I've had to hit
f6 twice for each time I lost my place in Word.
Of course I use a braille display and haven't tested these issues using speech.

  Judith,
No, it doesn't happen often at all.

One suggestion I have is what I do for my work machine occasionally, but it
doesn't sound like this is the same issue you are having.

When the automatic time out process is invoked, and I press ALT CTL Delete
to verify my password, only some areas of the screen are read. I have got in
the habit of closing JAWS with Insert F4 and using the hot key I set (CTL, ALT,
J) to bring it right back up.

What application are you in when this happens? Does it matter?
If like in the case of WORD, if a VIEW menu is available, be sure you have
Normal checked. Also at the bottom of the View Menu is a Zoom option in many
applications. Set this to 100% or 75%. It may drive sighted people nuts, but
often JAWS plays nicer with these settings.

  Always,
  Barbara Anne

The same thing happened just now even though I hit the restore button. Any
more suggestions? Does this happen often on your computer?

    Judith,
I have done a restore in such cases and mostly it helps.
The restore button can be located along side the Minimize and Maximize
buttons.

I think the cases when jaws leaves off the last part of a word has gotten
worse. Now it leaves off the last word or last two words of a line. Is there
anything I can do? Thanks, Judith
