many reasons, one you can cram tons of songs and even books onto a cd or 
recordable dvd that fits into a portable.

mp3 is easier to download with 56k modems

by the way i am pretty much a wave person, did all this mp3 stuff 5 years back.

i can see the 500 gig drives are just about to be released and thats a lot 
of cd  even in wave format.

still mp3 sound to me as good as the radio so their not bad.

so for that reason i do not understand why the industry is claiming theft, 
one can record of the radio anytime they want.

also mp3 is good for internet broadcastors.

like acb radio or f t p radio.

its smaller size makes for better streeming.

the above 2 sites are places one can go if they want to do their own 
broadcasting.
