Not sure of your problems, but for JAWS to read the scanned file you must do 
a OCR(Optical Recognition Character) on the file first.
When I use Omni Page 14, I press alt plus P for Process press enter on that 
selection then go from there.
Anyway write if you have more questions you have not already found the 
answers to?
