The latest version of Windows Messenger for xp os users is:
version 5.1.0639
I've it and it works fine for me.
Sometimes, there are problems to connect via Windows Messenger and it is not
because you use x version or y.

Hi All,
I am running Windows messenger 5.0.0381 and I have tried to voice chat with
two different friends over the past couple of days and we can't hear each
other.
Both of them have Windows-XP so are running Windows messenger although I'm
not sure which version either of them is running.
I was just wondering which versions of Windows messenger after 5.0.0381
work well with Jaws, I haven't upgraded messenger in quite a while because
of the accessability issues between later versions of messenger and
Jaws. Oh and BTW I am running Jaws 6.1 and I also have 6.0 installed.
